MASSACHUSETTS COVID-19 TRAVEL ORDER – Effective August 1, 2020, all visitors and returning residents entering Massachusetts must follow the new travel orders. For all details regarding the travel order please visit As indicated on the Mass.Gov website, a negative result from an antigen test must be confirmed by a negative result from an FDA EUA-approved molecular (PCR) SARS-CoV2 test, on a sample obtained 72 hours or less prior to arrival in Massachusetts. Serology tests will not be accepted. As such, Lynn Urgent Care’s PCR Tests are performed by trained staff of Lynn Urgent Care with Rapid Sekisui Silaris / Mesa Biotech Accula™ SARS-CoV-2 Test. This is an FDA EUA-approved molecular test which delivers accurate results rapidly.

Rapid Molecular RNA COVID-19 Testing allows our provider team to perform a nasal swab test with highly accurate results for an active COVID infection. Patients can expect to get their test results in 30 minutes or less. Rapid molecular tests usually do not need to be repeated since they are the most accurate type of testing available.

Lynn Urgent Care stands ready to assist our local community during any public health crisis, and the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is no exception. If you have flu-like symptoms, such as fever, body aches, a persistent cough, a sore throat, and/or shortness of breath, we can prescreen you for COVID-19 remotely.

By taking advantage of our convenient telemedicine services, you can consult with a knowledgeable medical provider and receive personalized medical advice without leaving the safety and comfort of your home. During your Virtual Visit, your provider will determine whether COVID-19 virus testing is appropriate for you and, if so, explain how you can preregister for a curbside test at our urgent care centers.

Your health and well-being are of the utmost importance to the team at Lynn Urgent Care, and we want you to know that we are doing everything possible to keep you safe during these uncertain times. As always, you can visit our urgent care centers with complete confidence. In addition to our standard infection control protocols, we are taking further steps to protect our patients and staff from COVID-19, including sterilizing our facilities throughout the day. For your safety and for the protection of our vulnerable population, we are committed to providing an environment that is safe for our patients, their families and our providers.

Your safety is our top priority.
We have implemented a number of proactive measures to minimize the risk to our providers and our patients. We are in ongoing communication with local public health officials and continue to adhere to all the guidelines and directives set forth by state and regional health authorities. Our providers are trained to practice and abide by proper infection control and management protocols.

Our clinical team serve on multiple task forces that focus on COVID 19 safety measures and management in order to stay on top of this pandemic, and keep all those we work with and those that work with us, safe and healthy. We are committed to being here for our members, their families and our team members as together we fight this virus.

Only those Providers who pass all screenings will be allowed to provider services in our Urgent Care.
  • Strict active screening procedures: All providers are screened for health, travel and temperature the day before and immediately before every shift and all our team’s health is monitored and tracked daily. Each service provider will have to abide by our rigorous screening checklist set out by our physician team based on uptodate guidelines and restrictions.
  • All providers are bound by contract to adhere to our safety practice and policy guidelines, including the wearing of masks and personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Enhanced cleaning protocols: Additional cleaning measures designed to eliminate risk of contact on surfaces, are being done often throughout your visit to our Urgent Care.
  • To limit the number of people in our Urgent Care, please utilize our online booking system as much as possible; our waiting rooms are also set up to maintain 6 feet of separation.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: To prevent the spread, our team is equipped with the appropriate personal protective equipment and has been trained on how to properly apply and remove it.
  • Committed to Social Distancing When Not Working: Service Providers are to avoid all large group events until further notice or further changes mandated by the Provincial government; and to follow best hygiene practices always – in and out of Members homes.
  • Practicing Self-Isolation: Any service provider who is feeling unwell is directed to self-isolate immediately for 14 days and not participate in any Urgent Care activities during this period.


Does my insurance cover testing?

Yes! COVID-19 testing is fully covered, with $0 cost to you, by all insurance plans in Massachusetts including Masshealth, Medicare and Medicaid if it is deemed medically necessary. If you believe that you were exposed to COVID-19, came into close contact with a COVID-19 patient, or are exhibiting any one the following symptoms then testing in these situations will very likely be covered: sore throat, difficulty swallowing, new olfactory or taste disorder(s), nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, pneumonia, runny nose, nasal congestion, unexplained fatigue/malaise, delirium (acutely altered mental status and inattention), unexplained or increased number of falls, acute functional decline, exacerbation of chronic conditions, chills, headaches, conjunctivitis, croup, or multisystem inflammatory vasculitis in children (some of the symptoms associated with multisystem inflammatory vasculitis in children include persistent fever and a variety of symptoms that may include abdominal pain, gastrointestinal symptoms, including nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, as well as rash)

What if I want to get tested anyway for peace of mind, convenience or as a travel requirement?

If you don’t fit the medically necessary testing criteria (see above) or do not have insurance we offer very affordable rates for testing. The current pricing for testing is $200 for rapid PCR swab based testing. We strongly encourage you to discuss your condition, symptoms and reasoning for asking for testing with our staff to determine which test is most appropriate for your situation. We also remind you to always call 9-1-1 in case of emergencies.

If you need COVID-19 test results for travel out of country (or to certain other states with coronavirus related travel restrictions), we can also provide them to you. Please ensure to inquire about results and turn around times before finalizing your travel plans. It is your responsibility to check your destination’s requirements before you get tested. Many destinations, for example, will only accept a PCR test within 72 hours of travel. Some will accept it within 10 days of travel. We are unable to offer refunds if you order the test too soon. Our staff are unable to offer clear guidance on this as there are dozens of destinations, each of which have different requirements.

How to book a COVID-19 test

If you would like to book your test ahead of time on a particular time-slot of your choosing, you can visit our BOOK ONLINE and make sure to select "COVID-19 Test" as the reason for your visit. That way you spend less time filling out paperwork when you get to the clinic for your booked time. The results should be available within the hour. Please maintain self-isolation at home till you have received the results.
